The NEXDRIL® high-density salt water-based drilling fluid system is a drilling fluid formulation based on calcium chloride salt water as the base liquid, combined with other types of salts, completely eliminating the presence of clay components. It is prepared by adding high-molecular polymers and acid-soluble bridging materials. This is a drilling fluid system specifically designed for reservoir drill-in fluids (RDF). Its core components include viscosifier, rheology modifier, fluid loss reducers, sized calcium carbonate, and corrosion inhibitors. The filter cake is easily removable, providing maximum protection for the reservoir. NEXDRIL® demonstrates the characteristics of no clay phase and thin rheology profile. It can effectively prevent wellbore collapse and improved ROP. It maintains stable performance even under complex conditions such as 180°C high temperature and 15000mg/L calcium ion concentration. Its application fields cover various geological conditions such as loose and fractured formations, sandstone uranium belts, and sedimentary rock layers. It effectively protects the reservoir, with a permeability recovery value of over 90%, providing a guarantee for stable production in the later stage.
The benefits of NEXDRIL® reservoir drill-in brine-based system are summarized as:
* Composite divalent salt system
* Low rheology profile
* Excellent mud cake quality, thin, tough, non-permeable
* Efficient cleanup and removal of filter cake
* Reservoir-specific system, excellent protection effect on oil and gas layers, permeability recovery value above 90%
* Maximum density up to 2.1sg
* Low corrosiveness
* Low turbidity, NTU < 40
* Cost lower than organic salt system, high cost-effectiveness
* No crystallization phenomenon under low temperature conditions, meeting requirements for low-temperature drilling environment
* Wide range of application, applicable to completion fluid and workover fluid

¬ The amount of each above product added into the formulation is g to mix 350 ml (1bbl) volume sample
¬ 1ppb = 2.857kg/m3, 1ppb = 1g/350ml
¬ Temperature stability can be increased with the addition of oxygen scavengers
¬ Add defoamer as required. This may be essential in salt systems
¬ Add sized ground marble as required
¬ Pilot testing should be performed to determine the exact amount of each product used in a particular formulation under elevated temperatures
To ensure that the fluid formulation truly meets your required specifications, SHARK's expert will work with you to pilot test the fluid before fully deploying it as part of your drilling program.
To achieve a customized drilling fluids solution and optimized shale inhibition, a suite of all items in drill-in fluid testing have to be conducted. Besides, special designed laboratory tests are also critical to the successful application of NEXDRIL® system in the field.
